Re-Elect Nita Jane Ayres

Issues

Jobs - The key to our nation’s economic recovery is putting people back to work.  I will fight to keep government off the backs of small businesses and work to ensure that our local businesses have the resources they need to be successful to attract quality jobs to our community.  We must also ensure that Missouri has a business climate that attracts businesses.  I will work to cut taxes and reduce regulation.

Schools - The future of our nation depends on the strength of our schools. For decades, politicians have failed to provide schools with adequate funding. I will work to see that our schools receive the funding they deserve and that teachers receive the resources they need to be successful.

Protecting Our Seniors - As your representative, I will work to advance the well-being of our seniors by crafting reforms to our health care system to increase accessibility and affordability, working to reduce crime and promote safe communities and fighting for consumer protection measures to protect our seniors from fraud and abuse.

Tourism - The Table Rock Lake region is vital to the economic prosperity of the state of Missouri. For decades, tourism in Southwest Missouri has been an economic driver for our state and I will strive to see that we receive our fair share of the state’s tourism funding. Tourism funding is a proven investment and I will work to see that we continue to receive this funding in the future.

Economic Development - Missouri must continually look at ways to develop and maintain a strong, stable and diverse economy. I will work to ensure that this District can attract new businesses through proven economic development incentives that promote growth. The scenic beauty of this area and our lakes enhances our quality of life and I will work to encourage water quality protection efforts. Our communities are dependent upon a good road system and I will be an advocate for continued improvements.

Taxes - Americans are overtaxed and the tax codes are too complicated.   In Jefferson City, I will aggressively work to cut taxes and simplify our current tax code for Missouri families and businesses.

Pro-Life & Pro-Family - I believe we must protect the lives of the unborn.  In Jefferson City I have been and will continue to be a committed pro-life vote. Families are the core unit and basis of our communities and our American way of life. Strong families make strong communities and we need strong families to make our nation strong.

Veterans - As a state, we have an obligation to provide support for those who have served in the military for our country. I will be a tireless advocate for Missouri's bravest by working to ensure that these men and women have the resources they need to be successful while overseas and here in Missouri. I will work to improve education, economic, and medical benefits for all who serve.

2nd Amendment - The issue is simple: our founding fathers gave us the right to bear arms.  As a gun owner, I will fight government infringement on the 2nd Amendment Rights of law abiding Missourians.

Spending - Government spending is out of control.  I will work to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse in government and ensure that your tax dollars are spent wisely.  My years of experience in budgeting and accounting have taught me the value of fiscal responsibility and in Jefferson City I will be a strong advocate for you and your tax dollars.

Healthcare - Our nation’s healthcare system is in need of reform.  The costs are too high and there are too many uninsured Missourians.  I will work to expand access to affordable, quality healthcare, but I do not believe that more government regulation and more government spending is the answer.  We must use proven free-market principles to craft commonsense reforms to our current system that will provide insurance to more Missourians.
